Put a name on the well

Tell us the name you would like on the plaque — your own, your parents’, or someone you wish to remember. We confirm the wording with you before it is made. Many people see a well as a Sadaqah Jariyah; that intention is yours, and our part is to build the well, document it and follow it up.

Ghars Wells is a project-implementation business operating under a registered private company. It is not a registered charity and does not issue tax-deductible receipts.

Common questions

How much does a water well cost?

A manual shallow well costs USD 170. An artesian well with a hand pump and an electric motor costs USD 370. These are the prices of the complete projects described on each well page.

What is included in the price?

Both wells include drilling and construction, pump installation, a plaque with the sponsor’s name, and photo and video documentation from the start of the project to its opening. The artesian well includes both the hand pump and the electric motor, with no extra charge for the included components.

How is the completed well documented?

The work is photographed and filmed from the beginning of construction until completion and opening. We send you the photos and videos so you can see your project. You may also ask us to revisit the well and document it again.

How long does construction take?

We estimate 8–9 days for a manual shallow well and 15–17 days for an artesian well. The actual time depends on the site and ground conditions.

Can I add a name to the plaque?

Yes. Tell us the name you would like on the plaque — yours, a parent’s, or a loved one’s. We confirm the exact wording with you before the plaque is made.
